New one on the way from Philadelphia based producer Mitis and oh my, is it a wild little piece of 110 delight. “Elixir”, which will be available for purchase via Heavy Artillery Records on July 3 is a heater of a moombahcore banger that’s sure erupt a frenzy on dance floors this summer. Mitis himself is a very interesting character as well, having started his musical career as a classically trained pianist and pursuing it to the prestigious levels of performing at Carnegie Hall in New York. Very interesting and I must applaud Mitis on his ability to provide an interesting bio for bloggers such as myself to draw flavor text from.
Zaku-Chan is (according to the bandcamp page) a 17 year old LA based bass producer, and this young chap’s got skills better than some veterans in the industry. If you like what you hear, make sure to check his bandcamp for some free tunes, and if your in the LA area on June 21st, come by Long Beach to check him out live at the FEELS SO GOOD summer party!
A remix that the Noisia boys handed down to producer Receptor after being impressed with his work as a producer, the results are quite amazing and a far departure form what Noisia is used to sounding like. Tankman’s remix of UltraBlack’s Joy Ride is freaking massive! The basslines sound like they’re talking to you too. Don’t try to have a conversation with it though, just keep quiet and enjoy! =) Check the free download here, and if you really like it, make sure to share some love!
Legendary AK1200 just dropped A MASSIVE live mix done in Green Bay and guess what, it’s A MUST HAVE. If you don’t know who AK1200 is, you’re probably under the age of 16 and have yet to know what good music sounds like. You can take this home with you for free too!
DBR stands for Drum and Bass Roots (as you can clearly see by our website name) and this weekend we will be exploring the roots of drum and bass. After many decades of existence, the drum and bass subculture has evolved beyond recognition, traveled across the globe and grown into too many sub-genres, each with it’s own following. This weekend, DBR is gonna dig for some classic jungle, new school, old school and anything else with an Amen Break still in it. And if you have any tracks that you would like to share, hit us up on twitter or leave a comment below! =)
